There are several highly recommended local businesses that we enjoy partnering with whenever we can’t work on something for our customers but there are also just as many or if not more, untrustworthy, unreliable handyman services in the area that we wanted to take a moment to share a bit more about why we started Handyman 30A and a little background about us to help you make an educated decision on who you feel you should hire for your next project.

Dependable

Have you ever booked someone for a time slot or even a day only to rearrange your schedule for someone who doesn’t show up when they say they are going to? That is incredibly disrespectful and frustrating. We understand life happens but clearly communicating this with a customer is so important. Prior to working here in beautiful Santa Rosa Beach, we lived and worked in Maine. Rugged, hard-working, dependable, those are just some of the descriptions you hear applied to the working class in Maine and it is true. We are incredibly dependable, trust worthy and hardworking, it is ingrained in who we are as Mainers. Fast forward to our now 40+ selves and we were getting a little tired of the cold Maine winters and decided to move to Florida but we will never lose that Maine work ethic, that commitment to our customers to be dependable, to show up when we say we are going to and to get the project completed for you.

Fair Pricing

You know the old notion of supply and demand and when there is a shortage, items and services can cost more since they are in demand? We have heard the stories of local businesses marking up prices because they can, not because their skillset has grown or they have added services. They simply have jacked the prices up because they know people will pay it. That to us, is wrong. We have a very transparent order of operations. You will see on your invoice the cost of any parts, clear outline of time to work on your project and our hourly rate upfront. Our rate is not based on the “areas” pricing. It is based on our skill level with over 15+ years as a carpenter. It is set to what we feel is fair. We live a modest and sustainable life, nothing fancy, and that is how we prefer to live. We do not believe in price gouging or increasing pricing simply because it appears a client has money.
